A 20,000L rainwater harvesting tank was constructed using locally sourced materials and local labour.
The project was completed on-site in a rural community, where all materials were transported by truck directly to the site.
This approach ensured:
local employment and skill development
community involvement in construction
long-term sustainability of the infrastructure
This project now provides safe and reliable access to clean drinking water for approximately 400 people in the surrounding community.
The impact extends beyond water access alone. With reduced time spent collecting water, children are able to attend school more consistently, while women can focus on work and household responsibilities.
Access to cleaner water sources has also contributed to improved health and hygiene within the community.
