When One Yes Changes Everything: The Morayfield Tank
This tank tells a different kind of story.
It shows what happens when someone simply says yes — and backs it completely.
A Single Decision
This entire tank was funded by one business in Brisbane: Morayfield Dental Studio.
One decision.
One commitment.
One act of generosity that didn’t need momentum first, didn’t wait to see if others would follow, didn’t hesitate.
They saw the work… and stepped straight into it.
And because of that, an entire community now has water. That’s 400 people!
Working Against the Clock
This tank came together under pressure.
With only days left before I was due to leave Uganda, the team pushed hard to make it happen in time. Long days. Early starts. Late finishes. Stopping only when the rain made it impossible to continue, or when they needed to eat.
Builders Micheal and Emile worked relentlessly to bring it to completion.
There was no slowing down.
No “we’ll finish it next time.”
What This Tank Means
For the families who use it, this tank changes daily life in very real ways.
Water is no longer something that requires navigating steep, difficult terrain.
It is no longer something that carries risk every single day.
It is simply… there.
Close.
Accessible.
Safe.
And because of that, something else shifts too.
Children who once spent hours each day walking for water now have that time back.
Time to be in classrooms.
Time to learn.
Time to simply be children.
